Where can I purchase Retreats edibles?

At Oregon dispensaries and thru Oregon delivery services. To find a location near you, hover over the “FIND SHOPS” tab above.

What’s the meaning behind the Retreats name?

We chose “Retreats” because of the many parallels between going on an actual retreat and enjoying cannabis. When we go on a retreat, we’re looking for much needed space for self-reflection, play, restoration and growth. We leave our normal routines behind and live in the moment.

That’s also what cannabis provides for us, and with edibles you don’t even have to pack your bags or take off work!

Are you partnered with Willamette Valley Alchemy?

More than partnered, we are one and the same.

Being WVA’s edible brand is what allows us to bring you whole plant extracts — in edible form. Our passion stems from our love for high quality extraction. You can learn more about our story here.

How do you say Willamette?

It’s pronounced: Will-AM-it

A little slogan that helps to remember:

“It’s the Willamette dammit!” -The Willamette River Keepers

Can you sell in states other than Oregon?

Unfortunately, no. As of Spring 2022, cannabis is still considered a Schedule 1 Drug (federally illegal). So even though there has been a lot of progress (13 legal states), cannabis must stay within the state it was grown and licensed.

For example, Washington, Oregon and California are all legal states, but crossing borders is Federal territory and still prohibited.

I’m in Oregon, can you ship to me since it’s in-state?

It’s not something you typically think about, but shipping services like USPS, FedEx, etc. are Federally regulated and therefore not allowed to transport cannabis - even if they’re not crossing state lines. This means that cannabis businesses must deliver products in person.

How are Retreats tested?

We work with a 3rd party lab that is ORELAP accredited to test for potency and homogenization.

Homogenous edibles mean you can easily cut and customize your consumption to suit your plans. To see examples of our test results and learn more, tap here.

How potent are Retreats?

Most Retreats (starting April 2022) will be 10mg of THC per gummy and come in 10-packs. Here’s the breakdown:

  • Indica, Sativa, Hybrid, Solventless Classic and Solventless Vegan: 100mg (10mg each piece) of THC

  • CBD: 100mg CBD, derived from cannabis, not hemp (10mg CBD each piece)

  • 1:1 Classic Recipe & 1:1 Vegan Recipe: 100mg THC + 100mg CBD (10:10 each piece)

  • 3:1 : 100mg CBD + 30mg (10mg CBD + 3mg THC each piece)

If you are a part of the Oregon Medical Marijuana Program (OMMP), the purchasing limit is also 100mg per package. The benefit of OMMP is that you save money by (1) not being taxed, and (2) purchasing higher dosed edibles.

For example, our Rec options come with 10 gummies because of a rule that each serving (10mg) must be scored.

with Medical edibles, the serving size (potency per piece) is left up to manufacturers. Because of this, most Medical edibles come with just 1 or 2 pieces that are dosed much higher than 10mg. Less pieces in a pack saves the manufacturer money that is then passed on to you.

Are 10 pack Retreats strain-specific or made with distillate?

Every option that comes in our signature Retreats tin is strain-specific.

What is the difference between strain-specific and distillate?

To understand the difference, we also need to explain that strain-specific edibles are created with a whole-plant extraction. We source flower from a handful of Oregon farms and process it separately by strain. Our in-house extraction lab works hard to preserve a variety of terpenes and cannabinoids for a pure to the plant oil.

Distillation is an extraction method that focuses on concentrating THC in bulk. It is neither an Indica nor Sativa, but a mix and therefore a hybrid.

Most brands use distillate and then add terpenes from fruits to mimic the essential oils found in Indica, Sativa or Hybrid strains in order to categorize them for sale. These are the brands that are usually touting a “hash-less taste”.

Retreats have a hint of hash that we cherish. It adds a little adult flavor (so kids don’t mistakenly eat) and it lets us know we’re eating a whole-plant quality edible.

The only edible we know of that uses whole-plant butter and doesn’t have a hash taste is Elbe’s Edible cake balls. Big ups to them!

I’m going to eat an edible for the 1st time, what do you suggest?

Two main points to run by you:

  1. Edible tolerance cannot be assumed by someone’s size or by how often they smoke. We’ve spoken with big strong men that smoke often, but tell us that 15mg was too much. Don’t listen to your friends when they suggest more than 5mg to start. You can always eat more later, you can never eat less.

  2. You will most likely begin to feel the effects after about 30-45 minutes, but remember, it will continue to unfold and build for a bit, so wait 2 hours before deciding to consume more.

Is eating an edible similar to smoking weed?

They both offer nice perspective and good vibes, yes, but where they differ is their onset, potency and length of experience.

  • Smoking is a THC (or delta 9) experience- nearly immediate onset, enters bloodstream through your lungs and lasts for 1-3 hours.

  • Eating is an 11-hydroxy THC experience- onset takes 30mins-2hrs, enters the bloodstream through digestion which turns it into 11-hydroxy THC which is more potent than THC. Your experience can last 4hrs or more.

How can I learn about the farms you source from?

We feature the farm’s logo on the side label of each Retreats tin. To learn more about the farms, visit our Farm Friends page.

Do you a offer 100mg THC Retreats packs for Medical card holders?

Yes, our OMMP (Oregon Medical Marijuana Program) Medical packs carry 2 “extended-stay” Retreats, delivering 50mg each piece.

Note: High-potency Retreats are made with WVA Distillate. Consumers seeking high dose edibles are typically looking for deep rest and relaxation. This is where distillate fits in our opinion because it’s more affordable. On the other hand, a full spectrum extract is hard to eat at high doses (very hashy) and the end goal of a high-dose is to sleep, so a full spectrum experience isn’t necessary.

What flavors do Retreats come in?

5 flavors come in each 10 pack, so you don’t have choose. Our delicious fruit-puree flavors include:

  • Strawberry Blast, Blueberry Bliss, Passionfruit Punch, LaLa Lychee, & Sunrise Grapefruit.

Where is the Retreats kitchen located?
